Scriptures:       1 Cor. 13:1-3; Mark 12:28-31; Romans 12:1

  • The English word for Agape (Greek) is love, but love is not a good word to express or give the proper picture of what God means when He says agape.
  • Translators have used three other words to express love: phileo – friends in common; eros emotional attachment; and agape, the God kind of love, which is the greatest of the three.
  • Scripture says that God is love. He loves us but He is love.
  • When you say I love you are you saying it with the same intent that God meant when He said I love you?
  • When you declare I love you what does that really mean?
  • We get goose bumps, feelings and emotions about love but that is not love. Those kinds of feelings change. The feeling that we call love is not love.
  • What you are feeling has to be God, if you aren’t feeling God then you aren’t feeling love.
  • We have got to know what love is and what it is not.
  • The foundation that Paul builds on is death. Before you can experience life you have to die.
  • You won’t know God until you die; then you will start your Christian walk.
  • We strive as believers because we are conscious that sin is rebellion against God’s word.       As the word of God instructs us to behave a certain way, we believe that it is God’s word and we should behave like that.
  • Jesus died for our sin. Sin no longer has power over us.
  • The grace message is such a beautiful message. Grace is what God does for us and not what we do for God. Grace means we have the favor of God.
  • You have got to realize what it costed for you to get the Word that is in your Bible.
  • We want Bible results but we don’t want to live the Bible life.
  • Most Christians want to be able to hear a tongue and interpret it; to get a Word from God and prophesy; and to see miracles. When we see these things, we think that we are spiritual but with all that going on, if it is not rooted in love it is nothing. It makes no impression on God.
  • Agape Love is not what is convenient. To love Godly is going to cost you something.       It is going to cost you more than you want to spend, take you places you don’t want to go, and keep you longer than you want to stay. If there is no cost, there is no love.
  • You should have faith in the gift that you are operating in.
  • The old nature naturally sinned. When you receive Jesus Christ you have a new nature.
  • Your body is called the body of sin which means that even though you are saved, sin is always present with you. But it is no longer in control over you.
  • Now you don’t sin because you are driven, you sin because you choose to. Because you like it.
  • When this is happening to you, you are blind that you are still a babe in Christ.
  • You can tell if you are carnal or still fleshly because every time you have a hardship you sin. Your sin is worry. Jesus says do not worry. . . saying. If you are going to worry, don’t say anything because worry dies if it is unspoken.
  • You say God I have this problem; and if I don’t answer this problem what am I going to do. Every time I is in control, worry is going to be present. I is worse than the devil. The devil will take lessons from your I.
