Satan is a thief. He is a deceptive, calculating plunderer who, if left unchecked, moves in and out of our lives at his own discretion, trying to find ways to rob and defraud us.

He has stolen the joys of family life by selling his destructive doctrine of divorce to millions of people. He has stolen the joys of sharing with others in our society by selling multiplied thousands his “me-first” philosophy. And, he has stolen from the finances of the saints by convincing the Body of Christ that poverty is godly, and that prosperity is evil.

His lies have kept us crippled, ineffective, and impotent long enough! Satan has “ripped off” from God’s children the quality of life God has intended for His saints.

Establish this principle clearly in your mind. God wants you to be prosperous, and the devil wants you poor. God has given you the biblical principles of economics to achieve prosperity, and Satan has all the lies you need to keep you poor. Prosperity is a material state, but it is attained through a spiritual battle!

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.            (Ephesians 6:12)

It is time we expose the devil for the father of lies that he is! (John 8:44) It is time we deposed him from his position as ruler of the darkness of this world. The devil has used his lies about money to destroy good relationships, to break up families, and even to split churches. But, the money wasn’t evil, it was Satan’s lies about money that were evil!

It is time to serve notice on the devil! He has robbed you and me long enough. For too long he has “ripped off” our possessions and indiscriminately robbed the saints of God, literally diminishing our quality of life.

It is time to take a stand. Please realize that while I have only touched on this subject in this one lesson, it is a very important issue. You see, if you do not learn how to stop the devil’s robberies in your life, no matter how much you seek to prosper, you will make no real progress toward prosperity.
